Your data, without fog

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what notract keeps on your iPhone, what leaves it, and the limited reason any information is transmitted.

Last updated 1 August 2026

On this page Summary What we collect On-device vs transmitted Subprocessors Retention Your rights Children Security App Store label Changes Contact

The short version

Your Screen Time data stays on your device. Apple gives notract opaque selection tokens, not readable app identities. We do not transmit those tokens, your selected apps, or your Screen Time activity.

The AI intention gate is the exception. It sends the text you type and a device-scoped rate-limiting identifier to our backend so it can return an approve/deny decision and a number of minutes.

notract has no advertising SDKs, no third-party analytics SDKs, and no data-broker integrations. We do not sell personal data or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

What we collect and why

Screen Time selections and activity

When you select apps or categories to block, Apple’s FamilyControls framework supplies opaque tokens. notract cannot use those tokens to read the names or identities of the selected apps. DeviceActivity and ManagedSettings apply your rules and calculate relevant Screen Time information on your device.

We do not collect or receive your app-selection tokens, selected app identities, blocking schedules, location rules, Screen Time statistics, or usage history.

AI intention-gate requests

When you ask to open a protected app group, we collect only:

  • The intention text you type, so an AI model can assess the request.
  • A device-scoped rate-limiting identifier, so we can limit abusive or excessive requests and keep the service available.

Our backend returns an approve or deny verdict and, when approved, the number of minutes granted. The request is not used to build an advertising profile, target ads, or train advertising systems.

The core blocking system, active timed windows, schedules, and automatic re-locking run on device. An internet connection is required for a new AI gate verdict.

Subprocessors

We use the following service types only to operate the intention gate:

  • Supabase provides the Edge Function that receives the gate request, applies rate limiting, calls the AI model, and returns the result.
  • A third-party AI model provider processes the intention text long enough to generate an approve/deny verdict and appropriate minutes.

These providers act on our behalf for app functionality. They do not receive your Screen Time selections or activity from notract. If our provider setup changes in a way that materially affects this policy, we will update this page before or when the change takes effect.

Retention

  • Intention text: not retained beyond producing and returning the verdict.
  • Rate-limit records: retained only for a short operational window, no longer than 30 days, then deleted or de-identified.
  • On-device Screen Time information: remains under your control on your device and is removed when you delete the app or its local data, subject to iOS behaviour.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or an objection to processing. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

To make a privacy request, email hrdevelopment.apps@gmail.com with “notract privacy request” in the subject. We may ask for limited information needed to verify and locate the relevant device-scoped record. Because notract does not maintain user accounts and intention text is not retained, we may have little or no personal data to return.

You can stop future intention-gate transmissions by no longer using the gate or by deleting the app.

Children

notract is intended for people aged 13 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided intention text through notract, contact us so we can investigate and delete any remaining rate-limit record.

Security

We use technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect transmitted requests, including encrypted transport, limited-purpose backend processing, access controls, and short retention. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

App Store Privacy Nutrition Label summary

This table maps current notract behaviour to Apple’s privacy categories. It is a practical App Store Connect worksheet, not a replacement for Apple’s current definitions. The conservative selection is to disclose both transmitted fields as linked to the user because they travel together with a device-scoped identifier.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when notract’s features, providers, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy here and update the “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects how we use data, we will provide additional notice where reasonably required.
