Designate stable apps
Choose the distracting apps that should stay blocked. They do not reopen until you deliberately start a timed window.
Your attention, made visible
notract turns screen-time limits into something you can feel. Your droplet stays calm when your attention is protected—and tightens as the day gets louder.
The droplet is a visual metaphor for habit intensity, not a medical or biological measurement.
The tap is easy. That is the problem.
Screen time rarely feels expensive in the moment. One unlock becomes twenty minutes before you notice.
notract makes the decision visible, asks what you came to do, and adds friction exactly when your impulsive self wants none.
No diagnosis. No fake focus score.A system that holds
Set the boundary while you are clear-headed. notract carries it through the noisy parts of your day.
Choose the distracting apps that should stay blocked. They do not reopen until you deliberately start a timed window.
Your droplet shifts from calm midnight-purple toward agitated crimson as you use your allowance. It is a legible metaphor—not a clinical score.
Type your intention. The AI gate can approve, refuse, or grant only the minutes your reason deserves. “Just checking” does not get a free pass.
Waiting time and gate strictness scale up as your daily allowance runs down. The system gets harder to bargain with when you are most likely to bargain.
Protection with teeth
Strong defaults, deliberate exits, and the context to know when a block should be active.
Your chosen app group remains blocked between intentional, timed unlocks.
Say what you are opening and why. The gate decides whether—and for how long—the request makes sense.
Make protection stronger now. Any change that weakens it waits 24 hours.
Use a deliberate timed release valve when you truly need access. The block returns automatically.
The droplet and countdown ring stay present through Live Activity, Lock Screen, and Dynamic Island.
Use schedules, always-blocked groups, location-based blocking, and Screen Time statistics together.
Inside notract
Your home view makes today’s screen time, protected time, and remaining flexibility immediately legible.
The rule that changes everything
A limit only matters if it survives the exact moment you want to remove it. In notract, any setting change that reduces protection enters a 24-hour delay.
Straight answers
No. Apple’s Screen Time framework gives notract opaque selection tokens, not the identities of the apps or categories you choose. Those tokens and your Screen Time activity are processed on your device and are not transmitted to us.
Your intention text and a device-scoped rate-limiting identifier are sent to our backend, which asks a third-party AI model provider for an approve/deny verdict and an appropriate number of minutes. The text is used only to produce that verdict, is not used for advertising, and is not retained after the response is produced. Read the full details in our Privacy Policy.
Yes. iOS ultimately lets you remove notract. The 24-hour rule protects changes made inside the app; it is honest friction, not an attempt to take control of your device away from you.
Core blocking, schedules, active timed windows, and automatic re-locking run on your device. A new AI gate decision needs an internet connection because the intention must be evaluated by the backend.
No. notract does not sell personal data, use advertising SDKs, or share data for cross-context behavioural advertising.
